Light Up A Life Ceremony
Lindsey Lodge Hospice has revealed plans to hold its own Light up a Life ceremony at its Burringham Road site for the very first time on Monday 10 December.
Our Lindsey Lodge Hospice Light up a Life campaign, which will run separate from the event traditionally held with Macmillan Cancer Support, and will take place during December, to form a focal point in Lindsey Lodge’s Christmas events and activities.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice Chief Executive Karen Griffiths said: “After listening to feedback from our patients, families, chaplains and supporters we can confirm that we will be holding our own Light up a Life service at the Hospice.
“Light up a Life is a nationwide campaign run by the hospice movement to help families and friends to come together to remember and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones. Our aim is bring this tradition into the heart of our Hospice by holding a dedicated service around our very own tree of lights, which we hope will become one of the most important memorial events in our calendar.
She added: “We thank Macmillan for their support over the past 19 years, but in order to influence our vision of Light up a Life now and in the future we feel the time is right for us to hold our own Lindsey Lodge Hospice event.”
Lindsey Lodge will be holding its Light up a Life service in the beautiful, peaceful grounds of the Hospice at 7pm, to remember and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones.
A Christmas tree will be ceremoniously lit to remember relatives, friends and family the Hospice has cared for over the last 26 years, where people will be invited to sponsor a light to represent their loved one, and join together for a short service of carols and readings, as well as a special appearance from the Salvation Army Brass Band and Choir.
